Hi Famicomworld,

Just a quick question, did they ever make a famicom version of the nes teenage mutant ninja turtles?

I had a look on superfamicom.org but there only seems to be the arcade versions.

Also is that site the only famicom database site?

Thanks you  ;D

Yep, I have a pirated version of it on a multicart. :) If I remember correctly, TMNT III and Tournament Fighters were on the Famicom as well, with the former rebranded as TMNT II.

I see so it was only released on pirate cart?
No, I meant I have a pirated version of the Japanese version of the game. There is an official version, where the game has been translated into Japanese.

Yes, it was made by Konami and released after all of the other titles in the series. ('Ultra' is Konami, after all.) I have one in my collection, and it's an uncommon title (Rarity 6.5 or so). :bomb:

Your not wrong, just found one on ebay us $249.99  :o

O well nes version it is then.

I have an official Konami copy of the Famicom one too.  It definitely isn't rare enough to be worth 249$, loose copies of the cart can be found for 10$ or less in game shops here in Japan.  It is a bit hard to find, but not super-rare or anything.  Be patient and a cheaper one will probably turn up on Ebay sooner or later.

250$ what the hell?  I got legit japanese copies of tmnt 1, 2 and 3 for like...40$ shipped on ebay

Just want to put a picture in as i've been offered a cart but its the arcade version and pic is what i'm after :)

yeah the first one is called Gekikame Ninja Den in Japan. 2 & 3 (NES) were released under the TMNT name on the famicom, but 2 was released without a number and 3 became 2 instead. Pirate carts usually use the NES numbering system though.

Yeah, for some crazy reason, multicarts normally use the Japanese version of the first game and the US version of the others. I presume it's because they had to resort to using an MMC3 conversion of the first game as from what I've noticed, they can't play MMC1 games.

Easiest way I know so far to find out if something was released in Japan is to search the game on Gamefaqs and look at the Data section, usually gives release dates for all regions.
