I was just visiting one of the retro game stores in town here when I discovered hidden on a back wall this amazing thing. Luigi's face made entirely out of Famicom carts.

There are a couple of more pictures on my blog post about it here:

Looks like it took a little over 1,000 carts to build.  It isn't quite as impressive as the Akihabara Famicom chair, but I still think this thing is really cool.  I love Famicom cart art, I think I might try something like this if I ever get the time.

LOL, actually no, they used some good ones too.  I could see the top labels on some of the black carts on the edge and could make out Metal Gear and Crisis Force, both of them pretty good games.  I bet there must be some other gems hidden in there.  Not sure why though, I would have used only Pachinko and Baseball ones too.

Wow, that's so awesome! I like it a lot more than the chair.
This is epic!
And you probably already know, I'm totally jealous of you! WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Yeah, its really cool, isn't it?  Another thing you must have overlooked while in Fukuoka, Manuel!! ;D

manuel

That definitely wasn't there in 2003! WAAAHH!  :'(

senseiman

Yeah, I guess they might have made it after your time!  Did you ever go out to that store while you were here, BTW?  It is this one here:

I'm not sure but it looks like it was probably around back in 2003. Its not too far from the kaikan.

No I haven't been there. I visited a lot of shops, but I never saw an Omocha Soko unfortunately.  :-\

Well, now you have another place to put on your list of "shops to visit" the next time you are in town:)  There are three Omocha Soukos in Fukuoka city BTW!

As cool as that is, I'm not sure I like the idea of pissing on some of my greatest childhood memories...

Then again, as Cmonster said, there's lots of Maddens in there. :P
