Hey FW, I've started what will be an ongoing series as I count down my personal top 100 NES/Famicom games list.

Yes, there are already plenty of NES top 10?s, top 25?s and even top 100 lists all over the net. So why should you care about my top 100 list?

My aim here was to make a unique list that goes beyond simply my picks and my thoughts about them. This list was carefully crafted based on my experience of well over seven hundred individual titles for both the NES and Famicom. My criteria for this list was based on three factors - Overall appeal, uniqueness, and how well each have aged.

This list will include every kind of software ever written for the hardware, whether it be NES, Famicom, unlicensed, prototype, homebrew or Hong Kong original pirate - if it was sold in some forum, it's fair game for this list. The only type of games I have excluded are hacks of existing games. While many of these are incredible, I may at some point in the future write a separate list for these alone.

So here's part 1, #100-90. I will be continuing to work on this series with ten games per post. I hope you enjoy and discover some hidden classics you might have missed the first time around!

I've only very briefly played Guardian Legend, & I already know it's going to be a favorite of mine.

Here's part 2 of my ongoing look back on the best of the best for the NES and Famicom. Here's #89-80. Hope you guys enjoy and maybe learn of some hidden gems!

Nice idea for a list!

@SM: Please check your PMs and tell me if you got my messages. I'm a bit worried since you don't answer at all. (Maybe you didn't get them...)  :bub:

QuoteIf anyone has or knows of the full version, please contact me.

The full version of the NES Super Mario World can be found on a multicart known as JY-120A 1998 Super 45-in-1 Multicart (it was re-released as SC-120A Super 45 in 1) but good luck finding that cart because it's rarer than the single cart version.

Watching this from the start! It must have been hard to get all those vids and pictures together! Looking forward to the next update! ;)

Really enjoying these!  It's how top 100 lists should be done, you've found the formula.

how is that? I'm glad you like it, but what about my style is so much better than others? I'm constantly trying to improve it, so any feedback helps.

Let me tell you.  There's the format.  The intro to each game, the right screenshots, the reasons it should be played, the videos to go with it and the personal touch.  You clearly know these titles inside out and it shows.  They are immensely enjoyable articles or 'lists' as you humbly name them, but I find myself engulfed in them and at the same time not wanting to read through them all, because then they will be gone.

What's more, they're lists on all the right things, personally that I want to read about.  Thanks so much!!

Well I genuinely appreciate your kind words. If you like this kind of thing, I can do a lot more of these types of lists. Ones for basically any system. Which one would you like to see next?

L___E___T

I would like to see ones for:

- The ZX Spectrum, IF you played it when you were younger.
- The Sega Megadrive (Genesis to y'all)
- The SNES
- The GBA
- The C64, IF you playd it when you were younger
- The SEGA Master System / Game Gear if you're interested.

That's a decent list of consoles, so don't rush!  But seriously, I'd read pretty much any top list you made, for whatever to be honest.  I'm really enjoying them.

The intro to each game, the right screenshots...

I'm personally really enjoying the pictures there, most lists barely show you one screenshot from the least interesting part of the game. The game's-title screenshot is the best idea (much better than only typing the game's title)!

Sorry to rob out L__E__T's post, but I have to agree with him in many ways!
