AV Famicoms didn't come with AC adapters. There was only the console with 2 controllers in the box.

model 1 sega genesis / sega megadrive power bricks work perfectly on the av famicom and don't require a step down converter.

A standard famicom / super famicom power brick will also work but is safer when being used with a step down converter

There isn't really a good list which Japan power bricks are regarded as safe here. Some newer systems like DS Lite say JPN/USA on the adapter.

Any Japanese AC adapter (110V) would be safe to use in the USA (at least the adapters for old game systems).

If you turn over the AV Famicom there's a sticker that reads;

DC10V 850 ma and then it has a little diagram indicating the polarity, center negative.

Please clarify, as the source would be 100VAC/50-60Hz, +/- 5%.

If you're asking to what you can connect the original FC AC adapter, I (as always) strongly advise using a step-down transformer, which will cost you around US$50, but can handle running two consoles, plus the FDS and a monitor or TV from Nippon all at one time. (No, I don't actually sell these, as there is no margin in it for me... I still suggest using them.)

If on the other hand you want to  know what AC adapter you can use on the FC that is meant for USA voltage, then the answer is: Any AC adepter that outputs 9-10VDC at around 700mA or greater, with 850mA being the design specification. I do have those in stock: NOS adapters built in the early 1990s, back before the cheap, flimsy and short-lived breed of them started emerging. They work like tanks and will power the Famicom, New Famicom (A/V), FDS, Super Famicom and MegaDrive.
