A very good game, IMO. Too bad it was never released in the states. Anyone beat it yet?

I'd like to see the movie.  I remember seeing parts of it.

It's a very good movie...:D

Great movie!  And great game...  From what I've played though, the second one really is better.  The first one does have amaturish graphics.

Doc

The second one is light years ahead of the first, but that doesn't mean it is bad or anything. Still a very good game.

I beat both Goonies games a long time ago. As of the first one, not the official Konami cartridge but on my Famicom multicart.

TRIVIA: The Goonies is filmed in the same town as movies such as "Kindergarten Cop", "Stand By Me", and "Free Willy". That would be in Astoria, Oregon USA.

One of those movies is a movie I liked. Guess which one it is. :P

On a multicart? That's cool, I've never seen it on a multicart before.

michaelthegreat

It's on a lot of multicarts.  One of the nice small games that's easily stolen...

Doc

Same for Battle City/Tank...

michaelthegreat

Pretty much any mapper 0 and the other small games will be on the pirate multi's.   There there because they don't take up much space!

JC

That's interesting, Michael. I've always wondered why they choose certain games for multi-carts. I figured it had something to do with when the game was released, because it seems a lot of the first releases or arcade originals are on multi-carts. But I have seen some stunning multi-carts, with games like Snow Bros., which wouldn't seem like an easy one to sqeeze onto the board with a bunch of other games.

Doc

Yeah, now I can see why games like SMB, Galaxian, and such are on so many pirates...thanks for the info, Michael!

michaelthegreat

Bigger roms made a much bigger price cost back then than today (for nes sized roms).  That's also why pirate multi's with better, newer games often only have a few--like 4 games seems to be common (but not saying that pirate multi's with 4 always have good games...)...  :)

JC

Now that you've mentioned it, I've been seeing Goonies on a lot of multi-carts! :P
