When I get the original SMB complete for the disk system, I'll compare them. The one thing in the ANN manual I think is different is a section that appears to be dedicated to the djs who appear on the game's front cover. If anyone who could read Japanese pretty good give a brief summary about this section, that
d be great.

A bit hard to read but here's a rough translation:

One day in the All Night Nippon land of dreams Viva Kingdom where the mushroom people lived, the great ruling demon king Great Turtle Kuppa's clan that weared powerful magic came and invaded. The obedient mushroom clan was turned into stones, bricks and mikes by that magic power. They also turned into personalities of All Night Nippon like Nakajima Miyuki, Tonneruzu, Beat Takeshi and AB Brothers. The poor SunPlaza Nakano was tricked by Great Turtle Kuppa's letter that he had slipped into the "Maboroshi no Shoubaihanjou koonaa" (Phantom Prosperous Business Corner - name of a TV program that SunPlaza Nakano is in) and SunPlaza Nakano set out for Great Turtle Kuppa's place. He was then turned into the Kuppa Clan underling "Okapii".

The only one that could dispel the magic and restore the mushrooms and revive All Night Nippon was the princess of the Viva Kingdom, Princess Peach. But she was now in Great Demon King Kuppa's hands.

Mario took action in order to rescue the personalities in every world, while defeating the Kuppa clan and rescuing the princess to once again restore peace to the All Night Nippon land of dreams Viva Kingdom. Mario inside the TV is the All Night Nippon listener, you. The only one that can complete this adventure quest is you.

The personalities at the bottom reads:
Miyuki, Takaaki, Noritake, KYON, Takeshi, Macchan, Hidechan and Okapii. Their real (stage) names is written in the parentheses.

Huh, I never knew Beat Takeshi was in ANN.

Neither did I! That makes me want it even more!  :o

Wow thanks man, had no idea there was a separate back story to this version of smb!

P

Me neither. That's why I was interested in looking at the manual. Thanks for the picture of the Manual.

Usually this thread is mostly games so I thought I'd mix it up a bit.  I just found this nice Rockman 5 figure set that I don't think I've ever seen before.

Sweet set dude! I was bidding on a set just like that on YJ a while back, but just didn't put enough of a "commitment" on it  ;D

.

That was really nice. I don't normally care about rockman merch but I think I would have fun with those guys. I would play around with them, hehe. Maybe put them on my chess set.
