As I said there are ports of ANN to simple mappers but they are unfinished. This one could easily be a repro using a SMB board or something else.

$200-250 for this set is not quite realistic, even if it was just for the Namco games alone. I don't know where you buy your stuff, but finding all the Namco volumes in condition as good as this is a pricy endeavor on Yahoo. Find me a Dig Dug 2 and BurgerTime under $40 each :P
The boxed Popeye is almost impossible to find in mint condition and if you do, it'll 30'000+ yen. I wouldn't call Ninja-kun, Mario Bros, Donkey Kong, Ikki Chack'n Pop and Antarctic Adventure "most common", they are not easy to find in this condition or at least they'll cost a pretty penny.

I suppose for a collector it is not too much. Were you really looking for all those games?
I once sold Dig Dug II boxed for 15$, though in a quite bad condition.
But as I said, for a collector it's not too bad. Personally I wouldn't have paid more than 10,000 yen. And then I might end up selling some of the games back to Japan. ;D  :-[

I've this too. :D It's complete version can choose between Mario and Luigi at the title screen and Luigi high jump and very slide than Mario like SMB2J. Some stage change to SMB2J too.

:O

Super jealous. I want! Is it for sale? :P

Id say you over paid by quite a lot.....majority of those games are the most common titles you can possibly find and they are nowhere near mint condition (popeye and DK Jr. are the only real gems there....but the condition of the boxes is not good). 43, 600 yen equals $549.86 USD. Personally I wouldnt have paid more than $200-250 for that lot, and thats pushing it.

I stand by it. They do not look to be in nice condition, judging by the picture posted. They all look used, have worn out corners, spider web creases, probably worn out flaps, etc. etc..

$250, yeah, I can get all that stuff for about that price in that condition direct from Japan.

I know a seller who used to produce (or reproduce) boxes for pirates games and was sometimes putting new labels and was buying all carts loose from Taiwan. Also my guess is that ANN is based off the unfinished romhack. Also there's a ton of FDS port that have been bought recently from Taiwan by some japanese dude. Like Zanac, CastleVania and others ;) Maybe i am wrong. But it could be guessed with picture of boards.

speculation works both ways doesn't it?

Zanac, Castlevania... yes those are more common to see on pirates. All Night Nippon? Yeah uh huh...

That's like saying the repro Nicoru that forum member here PARODIUS DUH had was just another repackaged expensive pirate... I'd say he would have some words to say on that, LOL.

Don't have them on hand yet though, I have all my yahoo japan auction winnings stock piling in the proxy service japan and usa warehouse. Waiting til I get about 100 or so auctions finished up before I issue the shipment request (saves some shipping money).

.

Yeah, these carts that stealthlurker is picking up are repro conversions made by a single guy who is producing 1-2 of each game. They are NOT repackaged pirates. Its possible to transfer fds games to cart yourself, hence why thenesdump.com is now selling Miracle of Almana carts- he paid a guy to figure out how to transfer the game from disk to cart.

My girlfriend got me my first real famicom for my birthday yesterday.
It's already been modded for AV, it has some jailbar issues which I'll eventually get round to fixing but at the moment I'mn just happy to play it!
