Niiiiiiiiiice.  I do need to get Time Zone some point soon.  I believe all boxes are signed by the way aren't they?  I've not seen a TZ box without it.

Yes, it's just part of the boxart. I love Time Zone, I have it but I want to get it CIB someday.

It's been almost exactly two months since I posted my Famicom collection, and here's what I've added to it in June and July:

Wanpaku Kokkun no Gourmet World, Star Wars (the Lucasarts one), Punch-Out!!, Sword Master, Chojin Sentai Jetman, Dragon Fighter, Kyorochan Land, Hebereke, Don Doko Don 2, Power Blazer, Saiyuki World 2 and Pajama Hero Nemo. All CIB. I also got the extremely cool Tokyo Metropolitan Museum of Photography's Family Computer 1983-1994 book, which I'm sure you lot are familiar with. I had a friend in Japan pick it up for me and I only paid around $44 for it. The two small boxes on the right are packages of candy with the same Kyoro-chan mascot on them.

There are a few more titles I think I might want to pick up, but after those I think I'm ready to call my collection complete. In the sense that I have CIB copies of all the games I want, that is. Around a hundred Famicom games, then.

L___E___T

Nicely, that's like the top 10% of Famicom games, a fitting collection :)

That reminds me, I need to get Gourmet World in some form or another, even if it's a pirate multicart. :P

I've never seen it on a multicart, so I'd say an original copy is your best bet of owning that magnificent game.

I actually only got Gourmet World because I happened to win an auction for a low price. I think it's overrated and not worth the prices it usually goes for.

I'm a firm believer in Sturgeon's law.  ;)

Nightstar699

That hurts a bit, as a Gourmet World enthusiast, but I respect your opinion. Hopefully I'll get it CIB someday, but I'll probably have to pay the full $200+ for it.

Here are my latest finds:

Really pleased with Wacky Races!  Great looking, great sounding and great gameplay mechanics.
I love the buffered bark projectile and the cycling power up system.  I played straight through and finished it, I couldn't help it, I had so much fun!

What wonderful selections you've made, L___E___T. Gun-Dec and Wacky Races are two of my favorites, I haven't really played too much of Guevara yet but it seems quite good. I might be getting JuJu Densetsu pretty soon as well.

I mainly stick to the bomb attack when I play Wacky Races, but perhaps I'll try playing it through with the sonic bark sometime.

From what I remember, the delay with the bark attack makes the bosses harder than with the bombs.

Yeah the bark is much slower than the bombs, so I'd guess it makes the game a lot more difficult. Perhaps someday I should try to beat it without utilizing any items whatsoever.

I stuck with the bark because I found it nicer to look at and listen to :)

Plus, I like that it has better range and a delay, it makes the game more interesting for me that way, it involves a tiny bit of planning I guess.

I did switch to bombs on a couple of bosses if I died, but overall the only boss I found hard to beat with the bark would be Penelope and perhaps the race car guy (the fast hot rod).

Overall, this was not a hard game by any means but I had so much fun with it, I'll definitely replay it through with just the regular bite attack (and the bombs for bosses).

Wacky Races is definitely a fun game. I'm glad I got an NES copy before the price skyrocketed a couple of years ago. I do wish there could be more of a challenge to it. Like Kirby's Adventure and Felix the Cat, this game could really benefit from multiple difficulties like Duck Tales. The base difficulty of all three of these games would definitely be "Easy" mode.

Yes, a lot of games could benefit from that and vice versa - Castlevania's easy mode is quite nice and makes the game a fun breeze through and the Game+ way more accessible.  I haven't beat it on normal yet, because you need to get from stage 4 through to Dracula without losing a life.

The GBA version allows you to save and continue just before the Dracula fight, but with only a dozen hearts and level 1 holy water I haven't been able to beat it yet, even getting to phase 2 Dracula with full health.  On easy mode, it's just so much simpler because I don't die on Stage 5 at all and carry through with a load of hearts and level 3 holy water.
