Shumi Nagaremono

Good week!

"Friend" in Shinjyo set me up with TMNT 2, Kid Dracula, and Cho Makaimura for a combined 2,400 yen.  The other stuff is from Book-Off.  Metal Slug 3D is pretty disappointing thus far.

"Trader" restocked their bargain bin.  Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari and JuJu Densetsu for 278 each were *definitely* the highlight.

And finally, from Amazon, my 275th Famicom cart, DuckTales 2.

And thus, my Capcom DuckTales collection is complete.  Though if I ever find a boxed copy of the first one at a decent price, I'll not turn it down.

I don't know, Shumi. I think the most exciting piece in your finds is the Power Blazer for less than 300 yen. I'd love one for that price.

Haha that wireless antenna trick is awesome, wish I'd had that back in the RF days :D

Some recent Famicom pickups from across the pond...

Starting to tick off some of the pricier titles now, not many more to go on my purchase list - some of the rarer ones still to find like Flintstones 2 might be tricky, but getting there!

Congrats on the Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa cart. That undoubtedly cost you quite a bit.

Which version of Flintstones: Dinosaur Peak are you going for? There's no official Famicom version, right?

Ah I'm a tool - no wonder I couldn't see it pop up!  Oh well that makes it easier to just make a repro I guess and pickup the first title as a duo lol.

Bio Miracle and Adventure Island IV both ended up costing 85 bucks - more than I wanted to spend but there was a chance it could have ended lower, at least those are ticked off the list now.

I think I'll leave Gimmick for last - I have a 5B chip repro of it loose to play so I'll need to save a fair chunk for a nice CIB copy, which maybe the last Famicom item I buy to be honest.

Wow, you got each of those for $85?  Sounds nice, imo.  Those two are on my hit list for this year, good games, pricey games, heh.

Haul from January and February. Two items there that I've been after for a looooong time.

Spartan X I've wanted for a while but was unable to find in either good condition or for good price.

And Battle Formula. Damn. I finally got it. I've been after it for two years, I've checked both eBay and YAJ three times daily, I've bid on many a CIB copy on YAJ and they always went for ridiculous prices.

And then this utterly perfect, near-mint CIB copy just falls out of the sky and at HALF the cost it usually goes for, the lowest I've ever seen. At eBay of all places. Instant grab.

I'm getting very close to having all the FC games I want...

Battle Formula boxed, you beast!!

Been looking for the game loose for a good while now, fora decent price.  This must have cost a decent amount of change...

Big congrats!

Thanks. Feels good to finally get my hands on it. Fun game too, and it does graphical tricks I haven't seen in any other FC title.

Funny thing is, the day before the package arrived, I had a dream where I got it, but it turned out to be a pirate cart with just a plain white label on the cart. And the manual was just a simple folded paper, but it had a small LCD screen that displayed the names of the group who pirated the game, in the style of the old Amiga intros warezed games had. So that was kind of weird. When I woke up I went and doublechecked that the auction had indeed been for a legit copy with everything as it should. And breathed a sigh of relief when it really arrived and everything was in order.

Great haul, Ghegs, FC Genjin and Tiny Toons were among the few greats I noticed were absent from your collection. Amazing price on Battle Formula, sounds like you were extremely dedicated to getting that one.

I probably have a year or two to go before my Famicom collection is "complete", mind you my tastes are a bit more narrow than yours.
