I feel the same way.  I have a small handful of boxed "junk" Famicom games, using the same mentality as you did.  Some items I try to get boxed when I can, mainly personal favorites, games with interesting artwork, and unlicensed titles.  But for the rest, now I just grab loose, since boxed titles take up too much space, and (as we all know), it is unrealistic to try to get every game boxed.

Neat find, Shumi! I take it that was a steal of a price?
I'm primarily a loose collector, but I can never pass up a cheap box or manual.

I used to be the same way with cheap boxes.  But now I've got like three dozen boxed games that are absolute crap.  I've got like half a dozen different FamiSta games in those huge Namcot clamshell cases.  Those take up more space than like 20 loose carts.

There are some games worth having the boxes for, for one reason or another.  Personal favorites.  Games w/ unique/interesting artwork.  But Famicom Business Software II?  Why?!?!  Why did I do this!?!?!  ;)

Well, I still like a cheap box here and there. Luckily, I'm not after a complete set like some of you guys. I wouldn't hold onto something like Family Business, complete or loose.

Defiantly not up to par with the FDS version but still sounds good and doesn't ruin the game play here is a comparison video that MWK did a while back http://youtu.be/54na587U5Sk

I suddenly find myself with an extra loose cart, if you're interested. ;)

for the right price maybe  ;)

Not even close to the original when it's missing those sounds. Ai Senshi Nicol has very cool music on the first stage so it's really too bad.

Taking a departure from my usual monthly haul pictures for something special:

Super Turrican Plus repro. The Plus part comes from the hack of the same name which fixes some of the original's problems, namely the camera. The game isn't discussed here very often for obvious reasons (it only got a PAL release), but it's a great title.

This is a cool get. I had wanted to get a copy of Super Turrican for NES, but being a PAL exclusive I simply don't know how I'd be able to play it. This repro version appears to be even better, do you know if it's possible to have these made CIB? As cool as it'd be to play, a loose cart would just be so unfitting in my collection after I sold all mine off.
So ends another chapter in the glorious legend of the Ninja... Until next time...

I'm going to make a boxI think, if that helps.  I just don't have time for manuals though :(

I originally considered getting the real PAL version CIB (I could just play it with a NES->FC adapter easily), but after trying the Plus hack out I decided it's the superior version and wanted that instead. Clarky of Clarky Creations was kind enough to build it for me. Come to think of it, you wouldn't really be able to take the game's official manual and make a Famicom repro out of it, since the Plus hack changes enough things around that the official manual is inaccurate in regards to the Plus version, especially when it comes to controls. You'd have to re-write chunks of it if you want it to be useful.

Anyway, since it's an unofficial repro I'm not concerned with the box and manual, it's not like those things have ever existed for this. The unofficial-ness makes it fall outside my usual "Every FC game must be CIB"-rule. My few loose carts are all either homebrew games or repros like this, so they have a nice little group of their own.

I actually read somewhere that though the game was released in PAL only, it was coded in a way that makes it mostly impervious to the common speed problems when played on a NTSC system. And it does seem to be the case, only the music feels slightly faster, but not nearly enough to ruin it. Then again, it's just something I read on the Intertubes, so grains of salt, etc.
