I bought a copy of Contra Force, it's so much cheaper to get a Famicom pirate over the rare official cartridge.

I thought Contra Force was never released in Japan?

You're correct, though it was initially slated for a JP release as "Arc Hound". I guess Gremlin was referring to the official NES cart of the game, which is indeed insanely pricey.

Got these in the mail the other day, I see my floor is also popular among other users!  8)

Found for ¥1,000 this afternoon.

Store even threw in a junker Famicom console.  Cracked, BADLY yellowed...but still working.

Nice. Is this your first BASIC set, or did you have one before? How's the condition of the keyboard?

I had a keyboard and cart.  I *really* wanted the box and book.  And, at a 1,000 yen, I knew it'd be a LONG time before I could come by either for a lower price.

The keyboard is in a condition that can only be described a "fascinating".  It has yellowed in ways I've never before seen AND the previous owner has applied roughly a dozen stickers to it, mostly katakana shortcuts/translations/reminders/shortcuts.

The cart is is phenomenal shape.  In fact, it may be the single nicest Family Basic cartridge I have *ever* seen.  The contrast between the condition of the cart and that of the of the keyboard is staggering.

Nice find! You didn't get the trouble-shooting insert thing that some people get with their Family BASIC? I'd love to see it scanned.

Now come and join in our Family BASIC discussions on the forum. :D

Are you talking about that little booklet with Mario and Luigi that says 'Q&A'? Next time I buy another BASIC set and that comes included, I will scan it.

Edit: Is it the one in the top right corner?

I sold this to DahrenDreamcast. Maybe he could scan it?

P

Yeah that one!
Maybe it only comes with certain prints. Do you know if it was it V2.1, V2 or older version that it came with (version number is printed on screen in BASIC mode and also on page 49 in the manual)?. Mine only came with a hard paper sprite/palette sheet which is identical to the one on the last page in the manual. I scanned it and it can be downloaded from the translation thread.

I also had this one here:

This was with 2.1A. I never really looked inside it, so I totally forget what the contents of the booklet are.

Yup on the NES, it slipped my mind to write that portion of the text.

Thank you! Got a few sets finished up this time, Rockman, Takahashi Meijin, and Double Dragon. Almost makes me wish I hadn't just taken a full shot of my collection last month...
