use snipes, that way you can cancel them if you change your mind and not have to retract the bid.

I don't drink often and when i do i'm usually away from telecommunication devices or on the phone to an ex in another country. I tend to dislike ebay all together since the fees are retarded and i can't afford anything these days with a needy toddler and husband who has no budgeting skills!

Haha security16. That's the story of my life. I have a son and no budgeting skills :p my girlfriend gets annoyed when I want to make online purchases.

I don't really go on eBay when I'm drunk, but I do tend to say the wrong thing at the wrong time. I also usually end up at McDonald's. :p

I don't drink, but impulse buying on Ebay(and elsewhere) gets the best of me. I'm convinced that had I been born a woman I'd have a closet full of shoes lol.

With the exception of the occasional piece of memorabilia, everything I buy from eBay is for my business, or else is consumable or utilitarian. I use a sniping service, so I completely understand the rationale of being able to cancel a bid via that method. (This is why I don't set low prices hoping for action, but rather, i sell with a minimum bid price of the bare, lowest amount I'm willing to accept, and if there is action, all the better.)

I also drink very little: usually a shot or two of Scotch whiskey before bed, or to relieve pain, and never for the express purpose of getting pissed.

I was sorely tempted to buy a full display of Nintendo pins the other day, but it escaped the range that i was willing to pay, which may have been a bad decision, as even so, I could have pieced it out for double the money. I'm more in a selling mode, now that I'm mostly back on my feet, and there is very little that i desire to buy. What I do want is quite unlikely to ever be seen on eBay in any event. :bomb:

I'm not a heavy drinker, but I do on occasion imbibe and once entered a bid on something I didn't want while my judgment was impaired.

Fortunately someone sniped me at the end of the auction.  Unfortunately at the time I entered the bid the auction still had about 5 days to go and every one of those days was pure agony as I prayed for somebody to outbid me.  I was so happy when they did.

Care to tell us what you bid on?

That secret I take to the grave with me.   ;)
