Hey Everyone,

I recently just picked up a Micro Genius from a garage sale but it looks like I won't be needing it. It was sold to me pretty cheap and it didn't come with any power adapter for testing with, so I assume the unit is probably not in working order. However since this is an older Famiclone, there are lots of stuff like the CPU, PPU, console case, and other parts which can probably be salvaged if so.

As you can see, the console is in fairly used condition. There are a few scuff marks on the top of the case, and a bit of grime over some parts. The right controller looks like it was pulled a bit too much as some wires are a bit exposed, but otherwise it is still intact. There looks to be some tape residue or something left on the cables. All in all, the system looks fairly used, but seems in otherwise ok condition.

Asking: SOLD! (Price originally paid) - sold untested as-is with no warranty of any kind.

Cheers!

Those controllers look nice!

Could you please show a pic of the back and underside of the unit?

Are you sure it is not a NOAC,some later IQ-501's are NOAC.

I wasn't aware the later units used NOAC parts, but in my case on the underside you can see a lot more components than a regular NOAC would need. The motherboard is about the full size of the unit and has big capacitors and other components on it. Naturally since I didn't open the unit I can't guarantee everything is discrete, but I'd say it's a pretty safe bet to be honest (In my opinion).

As you can see from the pictures, the bottom of the unit is fairly clean with two-three big vent holes to let out heat. The back of the unit has your standard AV connections, as well as a video switch. I am assuming that the video switch is for selecting composite out or RF out, though it might also be for PAL <> NTSC switching. Though, the former seems more likely. If the switch isn't for selecting PAL or NTSC, I assume the unit is NTSC compatible since I purchased it here in Canada which all runs on NTSC.

Where are you in Canada? I saw one of these for sale awhile back but with a stack of games. I'd be into buying it! :)
