I wonder why people would rip apart their Titlers anyway instead of just using them for playing.

Some men just want to watch the world burn.

A titler in good condition just went for 43,115 Yen on Yahoo Auctions.

Its a BIG system for most Japanese collectors who have tiny apartments, it would take up a lot of space. Thats why a lot of times Japanese collectors will remove the PPU from these and use it in the smaller original or AV Famicom.

Yeah I don 't buy that either.  It's out of sentimentalism for the NES.  If everyone just cared about video they could use emulators with no save states.

It's because people want the ultimate Famciom/ NES, the Titler isn't really a famicom is something else.

I think I'd also rather want a famicom (twin, AV, or classic) with PPU rather than the titler monstrosity. It does take up a lot of space.

I'd rather have one without the PPU, I don't believe famicom games were meant to be played this way.  That means sprites and palettes were also not designed to be seen that way.

I'm not putting it down, but I'd rather have the fuzzy bleeding than emu-vision of S-video.

Yup can't have this both ways. composite takes it too far. Edges of objects not clearly defined, isn't what they meant either. Squares and circles should be perfect.

There are some RGB purists, to each their own I suppose.

I also think Monet is one of the most amazing painters...  ;D

Actually this isn't true - if you compare the opening of Rockman 2 with composite to S-Video, you'll see it's nowhere near as good.  Developers often used retail kits backwards engineered to make games.  There weren't the development kits we have now back then.

You're not alone for both.

I go for RGB wherever possible! I kind of resent Nintendo for being so bad in this department, nearly every single one of my Sega consoles has native RGB output.

GohanX

Yeah, video quality on the Master System in RGB destroys the Famicom, it looks almost like an entirely different generation of console. However, as far as composite goes, the NES and modded Famicom do have pretty good image quality, so I deal.

I'd love to mod the thing for RGB like my PC Engine stuff, but I can't in good conscience murder something as rare as a Playchoice board to do it. I keep hoping to randomly find one defective and unrepairable, but that's pretty unlikely.

Another auction on Yahoo.

Wow looks good! A bit too much for me though. I like Monet too.  ;D
