You are absolutely right. If anything is a clone it is Ninja Gaiden that is a clone of Castlevania. Sharing the same special weapon system complete with floating power up containers (instead of candles).

That's true, but Ninja Gaiden III was released a year after Shadow of the Ninja. And Ninja Gaiden Shadow for the Game Boy was originally developed as a Shadow of the Ninja sequel, but Tecmo bought the rights, and released it as a Ninja Gaiden game.

I'd say that Ninja Hattori Kun is perhaps the most un-ninja ninja game of all time. Not that I'm an expert or anything.

Oh that explains a lot about Ninja Gaiden Shadow. No cut scenes between levels or anything.
Yeah Ninja Hattori-kun moves his upper body when running! lol But I think any Turtles game are the most un-ninja ninja games.

Yeah, Ninja Gaiden is similar to Castlevania in many ways. Also notable would be the similarities in their health/status bar displays.
I can't believe I forgot Shinobi, I agree that was probably the earliest ninja game to make it big, but Ninja Kun: Majou No Bouken is the earliest ninja game I can think of. I'm sure someone else can find an older one.

I learned today that some companies want their translations done within 24 hours, even when the character count is high, and the translation of every Excel cell has to adhere to a strict limitation of the number of characters (not words!), but they don't want to pay even only slightly above the normal rate. And the translation has to be perfect of course and if possible triple-checked, don't care if it's a rush job.

No thanks. 

Meanwhile their executives get hundreds of thousands in bonuses for f*ing their secretaries. Blargh.
