How many times have you saved the Princess in a Mario game?

I just finished Super Mario Galaxy, causing me to reflect briefly on all the times that I have rescued the Princess from Bowser's clutches.



Personally, I count eight.

Seeing as Mario was saving Daisy in Mario Land, yes, I do imagine they had something going on. So either Daisy is with Luigi thinking he's the next best thing or she's using him to get to Mario.

What about Pauline, though? She was supposed to be Mario's past girlfriend but we still see her now in the Mario vs Donkey Kong series. I hope Mario isn't double dipping, if you know what I mean.

Obviously mario's a pimp.  I guess I technically saved the princess in mario 2j back when the "lost levels" was released.  Although it was pretty easy since I could save my game and I got 99 or so lives in the first stage.

I guess Super Mario Bros. 2 won't count since it was all a dream!
