I think I have that same multicart!

Absolutely pick it up.  It's very polished and in my opinion is the best version of the game.  It has the full intro song, amazing BGM and SFX and even decent voice samples.  The difficulty is just right, unlike other ports, which seeem either too easy or too hard.  OK that could just be me.

It honestly feels like a modern demake, I like GB games because of the chiptunes and pixel art tricks.
The game design is just MADE for that system and it's the only version where Murphy can jump, which improves and adds to the gameplay actually.

Best of all you can pick it up real cheap on eBay if you want to, or flashcarts as they're relatively cheap.

Spoiler
Trivia - The full intro music (by renowned Jonathan Dunn) was used in this 'memorable' UK ad as well...

Just trust me that it sounds better through headphones on real hardware!

picked up a couple games sight unseen:

(not JP) was cheap, seems rare, cool perspective

has a very interesting looking cart with the GBKISS at the top

i'm a sucker for these types of chara

i'll never play it. but the art.. wow...

and i didn't buy, but what do you guys think this is?

Parodius Duh

I believe nanonote is basically an early form of text messaging via gameboy link cable. Pretty interesting and uncommon, but certainly not a fun game.

Yes it wasn't so expensive a few years ago. And I prefer to wait until it gets cheaper, if it ever does...

Incidentally I picked up a loose cart of Noobow today, in a lot that should pay for itself. ( that's what I have to do ..)

What other timeless games do you have?

GBA is superior in many ways... but it doesn't have those simple charming games...

GB games that I have Japanese CIBs of that I consider "timeless" or just like due to the nostalgia of having them as a kid are (off the top of my head):

All the ninja turtles games, all the castlevanias, both contras, snow brothers, both Demon's blazon/crest games, taro kun, double dragon, bionic commando, both gradius games, parodius, etc.

That's all I can remember off the top of my head. All japanese and complete in box.

You enter data into Nanonote, can create graphs etc... I have it CIB, and also some other utility programs, with which you can print stuff with your printer.

I tried out Robocop 2, and it kind of sucked. Haha.  ;D

You lousy American licensed titles you !!  :D

I've never played the second game, but the first one is pretty good from what little I've been able to play of it.

Also, I'm pretty sure that game was developed in the UK. ::)

Alright...

Well I am trying out my Kunio-Kun games now.
Dodgeball was too difficult, lose a match and game over. Not very much fun.
The "olympics" one that starts with 400 meter is quite fun, I just need to practice a bit more. LOL @ sick events.  :D Is probably a fun 2-player game.

This is the only reference in Scott Pilgrim I didn't get until someone told me later it was an NES game. I'd never heard of it before! Were those games popular back in the day? It seemed like all the other references in that movie were towards games that were really popular during the NES's time.

Well I thought the game was interesting, but not great.
Five events, difficult to control, and little more than pressing buttons

a few days ago i had the pleasure of playing a rather nice puzzle/platformer called Megalit

the purpose is to move the blocks down 'one level at a time'. if they fall more than 1 level at a time, they'll break.

i guess it's kind of a cross between daedalian opus and mario. the order in which you make your decisions is important, is this counting as N-Complete? or NP complete? i don't know these math terms properly, i need more information

GREAT music in this game. i played for about 30 minutes, which is a lot for me. then i put it in the shoebox.  :-[
