Fighting games....Round 1

Welcome to the fight club, Zoast. Yeah, I'm a huge fan of SNK fighters! You have good taste, MOTW and Samurai Shodown (2 to be exact) are my favorites. I main Tizoc and Earthquake in each game, respectively.

Ah, I understand, I actually play Boxer and Honda in ST. But honestly, the early versions of SF2 are my favorites, I play Hyper Fighting a lot on XBL.

And I'm actually a pad player, I use the standard 360 pad for SF4. xD I'm just too garbage on stick.

@L___E___T: Ah, Cody is solid as hell in A.E. 2012. I honestly think he's the second best character in the game, after Cammy. Today I had a couple matches with one of the top 20 Guy players in the world, I used Zangief, and beat him both times. After that, I came back for a third match, and he kicked me. Sent me a message about how I spammed throws, too. Implying that Zangief isn't supposed to throw.

I started out with Street Fighter II (Super, for SNES) so that series is close to my heart. And it´s still dead good too. I played a lot of 2D Capcom fighters on my Dreamcast, love Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Street Fighter III Third Strike.

And then Soul Calibur swallowed me whole. Awesome game, especially on Dreamcast. I like SC II too, but it´s so dissappointing that SCV doesn´t have character endings for the arcade mode

The Soul Calibur games seem pretty fun, but the thing that turned me off from them, is right when I got Soul Calibur 4, I went straight to ranked matches, was about to win my first one... and my opponent ragequits. Kinda left a bad taste in my mouth, the fact that my very first one just happened to be a ragequitter. =/

I´ve never had that problem because I´m not very good at these online matches! I played SCIV during my free XBLA Gold period, and got slaughtered by all these aces! I think I have a win ratio of about 10%. What turned me off about SCIV were the Star Wars characters and the stupid armor breaking. I don´t want my cool custom charaters to strut around in their underwear!

Ahh, you didn't like the Star Wars characters? A lot of people seem to have mixed feelings regarding the console-exclusive characters.

Soul calibur is fun but I'm no good at games where you press a button and the move happens a few seconds later.

The Star Wars cast just don´t fit in with the Soul Calibur universe. The series is supposed to be set in the 16:th century, not a long time ago in a galaxy far away  Namco did a lot better when they invited Assasins Creed Enzio.

Hm, I really can´t say I recognize that expreience. One of the things I enjoy about Soul Calibur is how direct and responsive the controls are. A lot of people even accuse the series for being a button masher... Perhaps you refer to the moves where the character load up before delivering an extra powerful strike? Because normal combos are fast and furious

A just won a Honda Vs. Honda mirror match. Good god that was demoralizing, Honda Vs. Honda is the worst match in the game, I swear.

Edit: And to add on to that, Honda Vs. Chun Li is a matchup that's so hilariously broken, it's like proof that Capcom didn't test SSF4 enough.  Want to know that matchup? Everything Chun does beats everything Honda does. End of story.

I know this's probably the last forum people would look for this on, but I made my own sf2 CE arcade hack taking all of my favourite parts from the various dumped hacks.  I already recorded a playthrough and it's pretty insane I basically turned ryu into the ultimate badass.  I'll upload the vid tomorrow.  Yes this hack runs on the actual cps1 arcade hardware.
