I figured I'd start posting some youtube links to my favorite famicom commercials since there seems to be TONS on there. I'm pretty much a sucker for real cheesy 80's tv spots and especially 80's tv graphics. Japanese commercials, especially for the famicom, were some of the craziest things I've ever seen. Since I work in advertising, I can't imagine how anyone could pitch a company these ideas and still get money to make these commercials! In a way I guess it's kind of cool that they would give a director such license. Here's my two favorite of all time:

OK....what?! Let's put a girl playing famicom in a field. Then have this crazy character scaring her while she stands on a rock. Add crazy 80's music and you've got a recepie for awesome.

Again...lets put a kid in a field sitting on a rock playing famicom on a TV from the 1940's. Then throw in 3 of those crazy characters waving at him. I love it!

Hahaha!  Definitely the Famicom Wars commecial!  I saw that quite a while ago, too, but it was great to see it again.

There were plenty of "WTF?" moments in there.  Most Famicom commercials were just as bad as their NES siblings.
