Haha, even though it's a joke, I'd disagree even if it was a serious question... I always thought those Godfather films were overrated...

Mindfreak

BUMP.

Super Mario Bros. 3 is still my faavorite!!!

Seriously, was it really necessary to bring back an almost 3-year old thread to say you still like SMB3?  It's not like this thread was already forwarded from the old forums, where it actually had a discussion going on... :P

Him bumping it could make a whole new discussion ::)

I still think it's the best Mario game even now.  Though I think the USA version is better, it's complete graphically and improved in terms of gameplay design.  Though, I always thought the Tanooki was a bear, I had no idea what a Tanooki was at all.  There's a tendency to assume Japanese versions are better just 'because' but that's not the case here I don't think.  Agree?

I like both versions, as the differences between them are subtle.  People tend to like Japanese versions better because in most cases, they're just more challenging.  I.e, in SMB3, Mario shrinks all the way back to little Mario if he gets hit while wearing one of his special suits...and then there's SMB2j, of course.  When they released that on the SNES, it was still made a little easier.  The examples are endless.

I always like that, but I think in SMB3 th game revolves around those suits, and the struggle to keep hold of them.  Nintendo also fixed / improved many other little things so I like to think of it as the 'complete' version of the game.  World 8 is hard enough on it's own.  List of differences on the page below for anyone who didn't already see it.  Many are [GAMEPLAY] design related decisions:
