nes controller to av famicom

i wonder if i can use NES controller on my av famicom?

Same pinout, same controllers. The only thing you can't use is an NES Zapper, which requires a very small mod to make it work.

It's funny. Famicom cords are slightly too short and NES cords are about a foot too long. I dunno why Nintendo of America thought that controller cords should be seven feet long. 5 feet is all you really need. Most of the time I just use a FourScore and then an AV Fami controller. That's gives just enough extra cord length to make the short 3 foot cable work without any extra from the NES controllers.
