More SMW. I've beaten 55 levels so far.

More Dragon Warrior II. I picked up the gold and jailor's keys, and the moon crest (my first!). I've also recovered Erdrick's helmet and shield for my main character.

Ah, reading his name as Erdrick stings :)

I've continued to crack out on DW II. I've nearly completed all the stuff before the road to the final castle, but I'm going to need some serious level grinding soon since my characters are still in the low 20s level-wise.

And what's wrong with the name of Erdrick, LET?

Erdrick isn't his real name - it's part of the whole localisation back then of the western release which I'm not a fan of.
I like the Japanese names and more modern style of localisation (which a friend of mine managed for Europe at least).
None of this 'though hath opened thy chest' nonsense.

I know him as Loto.

I agree with Let. Radatome was changed to Tantegel etc. I don't see the point in changing such names, they make equally no sense anyway (and tegel is brick in Swedish so I always imagine a boring castle made of red bricks). However I think DW II and DW III wasn't as heavily localized as DW I was.

But I still prefer the old localization to the modern one (kafrizzle??).
I understand they picked nonsensical spell names because the Japanese spell names are also mostly nonsense names but I think they picked ugly names. And did they really have to go so far to make Alena Russian? OK I'm done complaining. lol

I played Sachen's 'Little Red Hood' on the 254 in 1 bootleg.
Total kusoge.
Started feeling purgatorial, which is an emotion generated by classic kusoge.

Batman (NES) this game is kind of stupidly hard. :/

I don't know. I kind of like the cheesy old-English localization of the NES Dragon Warriors.

Tonight, I played Power Blade 2 (NES). It needs to be beaten for the NA Challenge, and it's a fun one I hadn't really given its due. I stomped through the first five stages pretty easily, but wasn't able to beat it in one sitting. I took down the password, and maybe I'll try again tomorrow.

Ive been playing pokemon yellow on my gb boy colour.

I got back to Dragon Warrior II this afternoon, but I was having some serious trouble with the dungeon where I need to collect the Eye of Malroth. I may have finally hit the point where I need to do some serious level grinding.

I think I'll take a few shots at Power Blade 2 before bed tonight, and see if I can get a bit closer to beating that.

I never said I was giving up! I played DW II for two more hours tonight, and the Eye of Malroth is mine! On to the next quest...

I fired up Adventures of Lolo 3 yesterday and today. I'm trying to beat it for the NA challenge, but I'm finding it harder than the first one. (Which is the only one I've beaten to date... I skipped Lolo 2 because it's already been beaten for the year.) Still a definitely enjoyable game, though.
