Yes he was! And I'm glad it arrived safe and sound. Last game I played was Kabuki Quantum Fighter on the NES, it rocks!

Yep, completed my SNES MMX trilogy. Now I just need Mega Man 7 and Rockman/MegaMan and Bass and I'll have all the classic Mega Man games for NES, GB, and SNES.

Oh, and the last game I played? Mega Man X2. I've sunk about three hours into it between last night and this morning. I'm still struggling to find/reach some of the power-ups hidden in the Maverick stages.

I just beat Mega Man X2. It was a pretty solid game, but not quite as awesome as the first Mega Man X. I'll admit I did resort to an online FAQ to find the last few of those power-ups. A couple of those were really cryptic and/or stupidly hard to reach.

Renegade. I quit on the 4th level; not because of difficulty or anything, but because the entire level is one giant maze and it's annoying as hell. :upsetroll:

I've beaten Renegade once. As I recall, the only difficulty in the "maze" of a final stage comes from getting sloppy from frustration at re-fighting the same scrubs over and over again.

Good to hear you put Mega Man X2 to better use than I did, I don't recall beating it. I couldn't really get into the Mega Man X games, even though I enjoy much of the music in the first MMX. For some reason 8-bit games are all that can really keep my attention.

I've always loved Mega Man, and I did get the first Mega Man X for the first time when I was in my teens. I was blown away by the improvements in gameplay and storytelling. Honestly, the first time I bought an SNES was because 1) the local gamestore had them on clearance for $25 (this would've probably been the height of the N64/PS1 era) and 2) So I could play the Mega Man X series. As it turned out, even then X2 and X3 were selling for about $30 apiece, and that was more than too-young-to-have-a-job me could afford.

I had played about 2/3 of the way through X2 previously on the Mega Man X Collection re-release on PS2, but I never finished the game. (Maybe because it just wasn't the same playing those games on a CD with a Sony controller in my hand.)

8-bit games are definitely my favorite, and probably always will be. The main reason I started collecting SNES and GB titles a couple of years ago was just to pick up the still-2D sequels to my NES original franchises. I haven't really branched out beyond that, aside from a few obvious classics of the platform like Starfox and Chrono Trigger. And honestly, the SNES collection won't likely ever be more than an extension of my NES collection.

Silent Assault. An awful Contra ripoff, but then it's so short and easy that I find it to be better than Super Contra X at least.

Hi, now I'm playing Zombies ate my neighbours of SNES. I think it's a great game.  :bub:

Silent Assault was the first unlicensed NES game I ever beat, and on only the second or third time I played it. It's a typical piece of crap from Color Dreams. There are a few exceptions from them that don't suck, but SA isn't one of them.

I also agree that Zombies Ate My Neighbors is fun. I had it years ago on the SNES, and have it now for the Genesis.

I last played Bayou Billy (NES) and Mad City (Famicom) back-to-back to look at their differences. I was really only able to compare the first level of each, though. I wasn't nearly tough enough to beat the first level of Bayou Billy today. The US version is vastly more frustrating. It's definitely not one of Konami's stronger efforts, on either side of the Pacific, but I do like the light gun stages.

Technically, it's by Sachen but then a big chunk of their games are pretty awful as well. The only good ones that I remember are Metal Fighter and Super Pang.

Right. But I played it on a US Color Dreams cart, so I always associate it with them. Are you playing on a Sachen cart (60 or 72 pins)? I played a copy of Metal Fighter a few times, and I thought it sucked too. (It was also a baby-blue Color Dreams cart.)

Last game I played was Terra Cresta on the NES.

I used an emulator. :octorok:

The last game I played was Space Shuttle Exploration. It sucks. :P

I think Space Shuttle Project is decent. It certainly won't satisfy an action fan, but it's pretty good for what it is.

I just got done having testing my birthday presents from the girlfriend. I got Arkanoid: Doh it Again and Star Trek: Starfleet Academy for the SNES.

Space Shuttle Exploration is a completely different game. ;) I'd link a video showing what it is if there was one.

I should probably try Space Shuttle Project at some point to see if it's any good.

Are any of you folks fond of Master Chu & The Drunkard Hu? Out of my Color Dreams games (all two of them) I actually had a lot of fun playing MC&TDH. Loved the Chinese mythological theme of it.
