Well, it's still not considered to be the 4th game in the original series. Otherwise they probably would've called it DKC4.

well that too.  I love DK64, probably looks like I'm forgetting it but I'm actually kind of disappointed to hear many thought dk64 was mediocre so I just need to clarify.  Also, that sucks that people think that. Brilliant game.
