Got an Atari 800XL in box with a few games. It has a F*cking huge AC adapter! By the way FamicomFreak, there's a guy in Pompano Beach with an unbelievably large collection that he's selling. http://miami.craigslist.org/brw/vgm/1828906825.html He's also got an ungodly amount of games and Demo kiosks if you're interested.

^That is a sick lot of stuff.  Anyone feel like picking up one of those NES TV's for me and shipping it to Wisconsin?  :D

So my find today isn't nearly so spectacular.  My gaming tv crapped out recently (big old green splotch in the screen like a speaker was placed next to it... except I DON"T OWN ANY SPEAKERS!).  Went on CL looking for a cheap replacement and found a very nice 19" Emerson TV from 1986 for $15.  Works fantastic!!

Already taken  :'( I was picking up my 800xl while another guy took the NES tv's. The guy told me that he got the stuff from a video game convention he held. Anyone know of this? His name i think is jason.

Got a working oldschool iMac for $10, system only. Not bad!

I've got a spare Apple keyboard that suits it well. Came with 256MB of RAM and the original 6 GB HDD with Mac OS 9.2 installed.
The original CD drive was toast but I managed to install a spare laptop DVD drive in there in order to boot from CD and disable the password. Then I replaced the hard drive with a 20 GB one and installed Mac OS X 10.2, works great especially for those old Mac-only games like Marathon. :)

Wow, cool. I used to have one of those computers a long time ago.

Lastnight I ordered these off amazon:

Mega Man (Game Boy)
Soul Calibur III (PS2, sealed)
Street Fighter Alpha 2 (Sega Saturn, sealed)
;D

Tomorrow I get to go to Play N Trade with 200 dollars, hope I find lots of good games.
So ends another chapter in the glorious legend of the Ninja... Until next time...

Totally awesome 133mhz you always amaze me with your finds and procedures to fix them up to a higher potential. Good work indeed.

I know a guy who turned on of those into a fish tank.  :P
Sorry folks.

Indeed, these machines seem to be great for all kinds of modding. If I had the time and money, I'd remove the original iMac motherboard and stuff a Zotac ION board inside it, those teeny tiny Atom boards are quite speedy for things like Youtube and they can run Mac OS X too! I like the idea of having a modern computer for casual use inside a compact iMac case. ;D

Anyway, I also found a non working, really dirty SNES for like 3 dollars. It had a blown fuse and a broken power input jack, so I hacked a standard 2.1 mm barrel connector in there (same as the Famicom). Kinda sloppy cutting job but it works for me:

Maybe this should go on the Redneck Repairs thread? I think it's a bit too 'advanced' for the average redneck. :P

Here's what I got today:

La Gran Aventura Submarina (NES) Rare spanish unlicensed game, really cool too. http://www.nintendoage.com/index.cfm?FuseAction=NES.View&egID=2919&lgID=1263

At Play N Trade:

Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 (XBox)
Dead Or Alive Ultimate (XBox)
Pokemon Yellow (GBC)
Super Mario Bros Deluxe (GBC)
Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (GEN)
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (SNES)
Pokemon Snap (N64)
Final Fantasy 8 (PS1)

Still got about 20 games coming in the mail  (half of which are famicom) and 2 systems. I'll post when they get here. :)

Edit: Crappy cell phone pic :P

Castlevania: dracula X crohnicles for PSP
FUCK YEAH SEAKING!

There was a clear out at work.  Hundreds of games up for grabs, most were clones in different languages of games I already have.  But I found these:

Best part?   Brand new!  A little dog-eared, but I didn't expect to find 2 new SFC games and a new GB game of all things...   There were also a few golden oldies - Spectrum, Atari, CPC and Amiga games strewn about.  Again all new, sat in cardboard storage boxes for decades! :S

I don't know what the DS game is but it had screenshots of some retro looking game on the back in addition to the main game (survival horror I think).  Anyone recognise it or can read the name?

I also picked up some new GBC games, but they're not cool enough to show - I just know they'll get thrown out else.

So it's true that every game company has a magical warehouse that's just full of old valuable stuff that they just give away to their employees every once in awhile? They told me it was just a rumor but I always had faith! :D
I like to glitch old VHS tapes and turn them into visuals for live music events. Check out what I'm working on - www.instagram.com/tylerisneat

That's kinda true.  Usually it gets thrown out.  Sacrilege!

[UPDATE] A colleague actually recognised the DS game this morning!  Titled Nanashi no Game, it was something he'd hoped to see a localised version of.

You play a famicom-style game (on arcade cabs oddly enough) in the game which is full of glitches.  those glitches then start to play around with real life and lots of nasty things happen..   It sounds.. genius!

Check out the trailer - I now HAVE to play this.

..
There was no localised version :( but there was a sequel in Japan :)
