So it reprograms a real cartridge in RAM with just button inputs on the controller? That's amazing!!

Pikkon

Totally forgot to post this.

I component modded a super fami, came out great but now I really don't need it as I have one just like it,might end up selling her soon.

Sarahconner

I really don't know and was hoping somebody could explain it!   ???

P

Well that's what the article says. It seems they are exploiting some bug that tricks the CPU to read the controller input data as program code. Then they just input the code they want to make pong and snake etc and the CPU reads that code.

The program they used to do this must be connected directly to the controller port pins I guess, because just hitting the buttons would require extremely fast (we are talking micro seconds) and extremely exact button mashing.

Haven't been going to work lately due to sickness, so not too many additions on my end. I did manage to get a couple nice things via a sale, however...

Nangoku Shounen Papuwa-Kun for Super Famicom, and this neat Mario sensu fan because why not.  Papuwa was one of my favorite anime, which made an already brilliantly-designed platformer that much more enjoyable. Sadly I had to use a bunch of continues for my first time beating it... I'll try to give it a proper one-credit run today.
So ends another chapter in the glorious legend of the Ninja... Until next time...

I think, i've got GameBoy flashcart  ???
I don't buy, sell or trade at moment.
But my question is how hackers at that time were able to hack those games?(c)krzy

Great finds to both. The new Strider game looks sick, I'm looking forward to playing it... I just wish there'll be a region free hard-copy release for 360.

That's interesting, didn't know VHS tapes came with obis.

The Vewlix models are available through Amazon Japan. The pre-orders for the blue version 2s should be shipping this month. Unfortunately they won't ship this item overseas, so you'll have to use a middleman service or friend in Japan to order.

Yeah, a lot more stuff. So far I've received 3 really large boxes worth of stuff. However I've been lazy to unpack it all, update my spreadsheets, etc etc because work has been really busy.... so I'm tired when I get home. Also this coming week I'll be out of town (for work).... then next month I'm off to Vienna Austria for another week for work again  :(

Plus I should have a couple more large boxes worth of stuff en route haha. Should be quite a few really choice famicom related goods and of course NeoGeo  ;D

Can't wait to see those!

May have to ask a certain friend from Japan t help me out on the Viewlix model :)

The obi on the Scitron set is around the box itself by the way - the VHS tapes are sealed like your LDs and sat in the foam like the CDs are, there are two of them like the LDs.  I'd rather have the LD version, as those VHS tapes are not going to last forever sealed or not.
