Had a rough year so I wasn't able to get much for Christmas, this is what I got.

But, I'm quite glad because thanks to this purchase, I now have CIB copies of my all-time favorites.

So ends another chapter in the glorious legend of the Ninja... Until next time...

Hope things turn up better for you in 2014. Regardless, your 2013 pickups are no slouches that's for sure.

CIB copies of Ninja Warriors Again, Solbrain, Kage, Hammerin' Harry 1 and Bucky are tops in my book  ;)

You have great taste in games, I respect people who appreceite good games. It takes a true gamers to see the greatness of Kage (blue shadow).
Any particular reason you bought Ganbare Goemon 2 specifically?
Selling  Japanese games in Sweden since 2011 (as "japanspel").

Thank you, Stealthlurker. Your pickups never fail to impress. I was starting to think I'd never find Ninja Warriors CIB, so I was quite pleased to get it.

Thanks Fred, I feel the same way. Kage is a masterpiece... for a good 7 years of my life, I was intent on believing it to be the closest a ninja game will ever come to perfection, until I played Ninja Warriors Again earlier this year.
I first gained interest in the Goemon series after playing Wai Wai World 2, I quickly grew fond of all aspects of Goemon's quirky Edo theme. The music, backgrounds, enemies, etc. However, at this point in time I didn't own a Super Famicom, so all I would have been able to play were the earlier Goemon games on original Famicom. Never been too big on top-down adventure games, so I passed on them despite being able to appreciate its characters. Naturally, when I got a Super Famicom and started to build my library, Ganbare Goemon 2 was on the top of my to-play list, as I saw a few short YouTube clips of the game, and noticed it was more of a traditional platformer, the thing I'd be into. So I got myself a (cart only) copy of the game and played it without knowing what to expect besides a Konami platformer with a beautiful ancient Japanese theme, and what I experienced happened to be the greatest game I've had the pleasure of playing.

I already opened her up to see what motherboard is in it and now I can component mod it.

Nice!  How easy are they to component mod?  Maybe I should do mine - do you have an online guide to check the motherboard?

You have to solder on the s-enc chip and install some component jacks but if your handy with a soldering iron its not that difficult .

As for checking which motherboard you have you need to crack her open, the mod only works on the following revisions.

SHVC-CPU-01
SNS-CPU-GPM-01
SNS-CPU-GPM-02

Cheers Pikkon!  Gonna check it out later today.  May not adjust it, as I'm picking up a US SNES Mini specifically for RGB, but if it'll be interesting to know.  Thanks again.

I agree 16-bit is the golden generation, but if only there was a system that could combine the speed and sound of Megadrive with the visuals of Super Famicom...

I don't feel that Neo Geo quite pulls that off.  Saturn absolutely does, but is obviously a 32-bit maschine with a shift in focus, for me it's all about sprites, sprites and more sprites.

So I guess CPS2 is my favourite 'platform' of all time in that sense.  CPS3 is more powerful, but I don't like the scaling effects personally and the CD audio nearly as much.

I am a big Nintendo fan! especially GameBoy, N64, SFC, GC. And of course Mario games
I collect SFC/N64 mainly. Some rare famicom stuff too. Also miscellaneous video game stuff.

Here's what I found while I was on my trip.

The Flintstones is honestly one of the best Mega Drive games I've played, similar to the two NES Flintstones games, but even better. (Albeit with fewer levels.)
