Please excuse the recycled, hipsterized instagram pics

stealthlurker: wondering, do you have an open ANN Vhs? i would n't ask you to open the sealed one of course, but if you have opened on,  i would love to see what is on it.
I am a big Nintendo fan! especially GameBoy, N64, SFC, GC. And of course Mario games
I collect SFC/N64 mainly. Some rare famicom stuff too. Also miscellaneous video game stuff.

Lol, that Ken plush.

Lol, that Japanese "The Wizard". I thought I'd never see such a thing. Nice finds all around though, especially digging that MD copy of Bomberman. I'm guessing that's a repro? I can't recall ever seeing a JPN version of that game for sale, anyway.

It's a pretty good platformer.

Cool, Pikkon! I'll try to get that one sometime, I'm interested in playing all the action-oriented Goemon games.
So ends another chapter in the glorious legend of the Ninja... Until next time...

The problem is that it's *not* VHS, but Betamax! Haha, so yeah I don't have a means of playing it right now. I don't want to just stick it into any old player for fear of damage. Until I can get a good, reliable machine... the contents of the video will be a mystery.   ???

@Nightstar699

Yeah a friend of mine got me one of those SD Comic-con exclusive Streetfighter plushes as part of a gift. The look on his face is so smug I just wanna slap'em haha.

It shocked me seeing the Japanese version of The Wizard that I had to get it. Actually a bit rare too from what I later saw.

Got some new nobori flag poles that fit much better and a NeoGeo pocket banner flag

The horribly ugly cover from Amazon... wish I did the KS version

Is that "Super Mario: How Nintendo Conquered America" any good ?
It looks pretty neat, so i may pick it up.

And will be there e-book realse of TUHOJGD at some point ?
I am really interested in the book but 40€ is little bit to much for black-and-white paperback.
(And it has terrible cover too ;D)

OMG yes Goonies     Amazing pickups as usual Julius!  :bub:

Glad to see another Famicom Mini fan!  I am on the lookout for one last Famicom Mini piece (GBA carry case) plus the two limited release games.

I love how Nintendo adjusted each game to make them pixel perfect - Hudson didn't bother and it made their version a bit blurry.

This is the case I'm after by the way (brand new only) in case anyone comes across one:

According to the Kickstarter... a PDF/digital version is an option to supporters. However don't know about a digital version for the consumer release unfortunately...

Thanks man. Yeah I've got a really soft spot for The Goonies  :D

I've never seen that GBA case before. I'll give you a pm if I come across one. Right now I'm thinking about those Club Nintendo GBA Famicom boxes.

I heard Hudson used PocketNES (since its source is public domain) while Nintendo developed their own Famicom emulator.

That sounds about right - it looks similar because the GBA resolution is natively shorter than the NES resolution, so some raster lines get merged.  This is why I'm not keen on PocketNES tbh.

So, Nintendo I'm sure would have looked into their own solution, but they also had to edit the games themselves to get around this - not dissimilar to how Rockman & Forte looks on GBA I imagine.

STEALTH MERGE: today at Stealthlurker hour

Thanks very much for keeping an eye out - super appreciate it as I can't search for it on YHJ.

I have those GBA boxes and they sure are lovely - however, beware some sellers that advertise them brand new unopened with the games -  this is false and actually impossible.

They were never bundled with the games, you had to buy the games separately and register them to get the boxes.

You can find the collection boxes brand new, but no brand new Famicom Mini boxes will have those.  Anyone claiming otherwise is at best mistaken and at worst misleading potential buyers.

Just got these on my trip to a local flea market.   :yoshi:

For a while I've been wanted a little red CRT TV to match with the Famicom. Sometimes they were too messed up or the seller wanted waaay too much. Finally found one that I like for a good price. I just love this thing. Matches so well with the venerable ol' Famicom.... and it's kinda cute too haha  ;D

By the way... public service announcement. Gamecenter CX: The Movie is now out on Blu-ray and DVD  ;)

That's really nice!  and the announcement is also really nice! :D

Wow, that is super cool and accompanies your Famicom quite well. :)

Thanks! That's what I was going for, something to pair well with an original Fami  :)
