Omocha Souko, just keeps sounding like a rip-off shop with the continuing purchases you make from them.
:(

LOL, yeah, it totally is.  They are a really great place to buy "junk" stuff in their bargain bins, but they are a horrible place to buy more expensive stuff from.  From now on, Omocha Souko is my junk shop, Mandarake is my 'glass case' shop!

CD Land is a place like that around here, cheap things are amazingly cheap but expensive things are mega expensive and broken. I only buy random controllers, and the occasional cheap GB games from them. (and I mean occassional as most are $15-30) They charge $20 for a copy of Gyromite, I guess they confused regular Gyromite with the converter version; and SMB 3 for $35. Lol

Kiddo

Got this bundle today:

Fully working European NES + 2 Controllers and NES Zapper
Double Dragon II with box and manual
World Cup with box
Werewolf with box
Super Mario Bros with manual
Super Mario Bros/Duckhunt
Super Mario Bros 3
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Solar Jetman
Powerblade
Puzznic
4-In-1
4x NES plastic sleeves and 1x Pirated cardboard sleeve

Paid 15.000 ISK for this, roughly 135 USD. Good deal or bad deal?

FamicomFreak

It depends. I wouldn't pay that much for that lot especially with all the common games then again you have lots of fun games in that lot. For a great evening of classic gaming, it is a good purchase but for collection value, it's not so great. I do like that 4 in 1 cart you have, gotta wuv pirates ^_^'

Furthermore, here is a lot of Playstation goodness I got last night. Be sure to check out my blog for the rest of the photos!

Wow, 35$ for SMB 3?  Yikes!

Shops like that are really just screwing themselves out of business.

Yup, what keeps them afloat is their reasonably priced current gen games.

Since I'm moving soon, I figured I'd hit up the old flea market one last time.  Pre-PS2 game selection was pretty dismal.  Didn't want to leave empty-handed, so I picked up a Super Joy III tv-game unit.  It has Street Figher 12 Peoples and Harry Potter on it, along with 75998 other games ::)

Probably not the best deal at $18, but not awful, either.

nensondubois

Is the Super Shrek Bros. hack on there?

I picked up these items recently.
New Yatterman: Nanndai Kanndai Yajirobe (Super Famicom) (Complete in excellent condition)
Super Tetris 2 + Bombliss (Super Famicom) (Complete in excellent condition)
Super Tetris 2 + Bombliss Limited Edition (Super Famicom) (Complete in excellent condition)
Super Tetris 3 (Super Famicom) (Complete in excellent condition)

I was at a Flea Market today and I found an Epoch Cassette Vision Complete in Box for only 1000 yen (12 bucks or so)!

This was the first programmable video game console released in Japan, about 2 years before the Famicom.  I'm so psyched!  Unfortunately I don't have any carts for it.  That'll be my next mission.

There's a flea market in Hakozaki?!  :o
Why wasn't there one when I was in Fukuoka?  :upsetroll: I'm beginning to think that town hates me.  :P

My conclusion: its got a lot of wires and stuff in there.

HAHA I love your conclusion! :D :D :D

senseiman

LOL, thanks, jpx72  ;D

And its a shame you missed out on the Hakozaki market, Manuel.  Actually they usually don't have much in the retro-game department, but sometimes they do (and the other stuff they have is interesting).  Its only once a month.

This is the other thing I got there, BTW:

A 1977 Nintendo Ultra Machine DX.  For only 800 yen, boxed but incomplete.  Still a good deal I think!
