Hi folks!  I've had my famicom for a few months now, but the one thing that bothers me is the tight grip the slot has on carts.  Is this normal or do AVs without death grips exist?  I'm about to invest in another.  I would live with it but spending money on expensive carts only having to rip them out of the machine is damn scary.  I don't want a regular famicom because of rf. Thanks!

get a twin famicom it has a nice little eject button inbuilt and av as standard with the system also who doesnt like the idea of a famicom and a disk system in one unit?

otherwise u could go for an av modded original series famicom but personally i dont have any problems with getting games out of my top loader.

Unless you're playing cheap pirate carts made out of extremely brittle plastic, then it's not going to be a problem. A sturdy, well-built cartridge isn't going to crumble into pieces from taking it out of the console.

I've heard a few complaints about the AV Fami's slot, but I've never had a problem with mine, either. A tight grip usually translates to better connections, so I think that's generally a good thing.

I don't like using bare PCBs in it, because the flaps darn grab the dang board and the PCB then scratches them flaps.
