i have boxes, but i dont have a scanner, well i do, but i dont want to take the boxes out of my display case to scan them. sorry!
Hardcore collector huh? I love my games, but I'm not too obsessive about the preservation of the boxes... Might be because I bought them used, and that they are already damaged a bit.  :-\

Recrently a lot of work has been made forward regarding the Famicom Cover Project, so I'll post here as well to get input from you guys and to hopefully get some support as well.

After many months of limbo, the Famicom cover project seems to be kicking into life thanks greatly to Lumberjack42 enthusiastic work on the NES cover Project. Until the threads are merged, you can read about his work here:  http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=748.0

I agree with his template in many ways except for the spine.

Lumberjack42's Famicom logo:

The modified logo I've made from Lumberjack42's Famicom logo:

The modified logo Eightcell made from my oraginal NES logo:

And finally, my idea for Famicom Disk System spines:

As already stated, the Famicom name is more distintive and more widely used than Family Computer, although that is it's offical name. I think it's fine to leave Family Computer on the cover, but having the spines next to each other I think the one I made works better against the NES logo already used.

I'll start work on Famicom covers soon.

A shout out to Famicom World: Anyone who has the possibility to scan your Famicom boxes please please do so. I would also like scans of the little covers for the Famicom Disk System since I plan to case those as well.

For those confused about what cases to use
check out mediashelving.com or thevideoshopper and search for Univeral Slim Combo case.

Cheers.

Jedi Master Baiter

I completely scanned Space Invaders & Galaxian a week back.  I uploaded it to my folder, but only staff has access to that.

Is there anyway I can send them to you?

satoshi_matrix

Oh yeah lol that would help. Anyone with any scans of anything regarding the NES, Famicom, Famicom Disk System please email me at satoshimatrix@hotmail.com. Please make sure your scans are high resolution, at least 300 dpi and  streight. Too often people send me slanted scans and they are a pain to fix.

MarioMania

Thoes Cases to put the scans in get's expensive..

For the NES & Famicom games get cases like the NES Holders

satoshi_matrix

The cases cost .42 US each and come in bundles of 100. They ship from LA so shipping is cheaper the closer you are to California. The cases are thick plastic covers like VHS tape covers you may recall renting from blockbuster. The advantage of the universal slim combo case is that it has insert sleeves.

NES sized cases specifically lack sleeves. There would be no way to add inserts. Also it is difficult to find supplies who sell such cases in large quantities. Even these cases require modding to fit NES gases into, but their sleeves make them much more valueable to the cover project thank anything else known to exist. If you know of something else, please let me know.

MarioMania

Is it possiable to have the NES Games in the Genesis Cases.to cut off the part were it hole the Cart

Jedi Master Baiter

Is it this?

Link

It says $0.00 at the top but has the actual price underneath it. ???

satoshi_matrix

MarioMania: Yes, but Genesis cases are even harder to find that NES cases without sleeves!

Jedi: Yes that's it. Mediashelving won't charge you until they determine how much shipping will cost. So its $42 US per 100 + whatever for shipping.

corisco

I should buy a scanner soon, then I can scan my  70+  famicom box games and send to ya ;)
^^

scannerss can come cheap, escpially if they are flatbed. I use a five year old scanner called a Canon Lide LED indirect exposure. It's a wonderful scanner and it only cost me $120 new way back then, so I'll bet you could find it today for less than $50. A scanner is a good peice of equiptment for all kinds of purposes.  I hope you really do get one so we can start heavy work on Famicom covers. 70 boxes is a LOT.

I think you and I talked at one point (I'm the NintendoAge guy). I'd be happy to help out with scans -- just let me know which ones and I can zip 'em up for you.

Anything you can offer really, could you make a list?

Dain

Sorry for the late reply -- I don't think I'm getting notifications of replies on this board yet.

I'm not sure what you mean -- offer for trade? Or offer for scans? For trade, I have a bunch of items in my store here:

http://stores.ebay.com/id=916272?ssPageName=ME:F:ST

I have several games not in there yet, such as a CIB Bonk's Adventure, SE w/manual (PAL version), and some other rare games.

Thanks,
